Burn Permits

Open public burning has ended with the approach of the 2010 fire season.  Open burning is allowed only by permit for small winter warming fires, campfires, small recreational fires and pine needle burning, but not for large bonfires or trash disposal.  Authorized Burn Days are evaluated each morning based on weather conditions, wind direction and speed, fuel moistures and relative humidity levels.

Issued in accordance with Section 040.035 of the Air Pollution Control Regulations for Washoe County, burn permits are offered outside of  "fire season" to Incline Village and Crystal Bay residents on a seasonal basis, from the late fall until the spring months. Typically valid for approximately two weeks, burn permits can be extended by stopping by or calling our administrative office at (775) 831-0351, ext. 0 to speak with someone in person.

Open burning is evaluated on a daily basis and may not be permitted that day if weather, fuel or other conditions warrant.

The Fire District's administrative office building is located at 866 Oriole Way, Incline Village, Nevada and is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., except state and federal holidays. Permits may also be obtained during the weekend by calling our main fire station #11 at (775) 831-0351, ext. 8111 or by stopping by the station at 875 Tanager Street in Incline Village, Nevada.
