During the May 18, 2016, Board of Director Meeting, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District passed Resolution Number 16-01, setting service fees for Fire & Life Safety Activities. This includes the new procedures of fee collection and plan submittals for Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Alternate Automatic Fire-Extinguishing Systems and other related activities within the Fire District.

These new procedures of fee collection and plan submittals will take effect Friday, July 1, 2016. The new procedures for submitting plans and collection of fees are as follows:

•A completed application (above) and two (2) completed sets of plans shall be submitted to 866 Oriole Way, Incline Village, NV 89451.  In addition, a PDF copy shall be emailed to plans@nltfpd.net

Please find below, minimum requirements for submittals of Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Alternate Automatic Fire-Extinguishing Systems and hydrants:

o Fire Sprinkler Systems plans shall include all data per NFPA 13 and material specifications on all material used in the system. Hydraulic calculations and systems will comply with NFPA 13. A contractor licensed for sprinkler systems and certified by the Nevada State Fire Marshal shall submit the plans. Original stamp/signature/date on the design documents and reports must be legible. A designer of fire sprinkler systems must hold a minimum Level II certification from the National Institute for Certifications in Engineering Technologies (NICET), be licensed as a professional engineer pursuant to Chapter 625 of NRS or hold an equivalent certification.

o Fire Alarm Systems plans shall include all data per the International Fire Code. A contractor licensed for fire alarm systems and certified by the Nevada State Fire Marshal shall submit the plans. Original stamps/signature/date on design documents and reports must be legible. A designer of fire alarm systems must hold a minimum Level II certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), or be licensed as a professional engineer pursuant to Chapter 625 of NRS.

o Alternate Automatic Fire-Extinguishing Systems plans shall include data per the International Fire Code and the applicable referenced standards. Documents submitted shall be legible and complete with original stamps, signatures, and dates on all design documents/reports. Contractors who submit these plans must be certified by the Nevada State Fire Marshal.

o Fire Hydrant Systems documents submitted shall be legible and complete with original stamps, signatures, and dates on all design documents/reports. Contractors who submit these plans must be certified by the Nevada State Fire Marshal.

All fees will now be collected at North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, located at 866 Oriole Way, Incline Village, NV 89451 or pay online here.
